Hiroshima
Hiroshima, a city renowned for its profound historical significance and resilience, offers poignant and compelling attractions. The Peace Memorial Park, featuring the haunting Atomic Bomb Dome and the poignant Cenotaph, serves as a solemn reminder of the city's past while promoting a message of peace. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum provides an in-depth exploration of the events of August 6, 1945, and their aftermath. Visitors can also take a short ferry ride to Miyajima Island to marvel at the iconic floating torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site set against stunning natural scenery. We are thrilled to offer our new JAPAN HIGHLIGHTS TOUR, open to travellers aged 18 and over at the time of departure on approximately May 18th, 2025.
Day 1-5: Tokyo
Day 1: Arrive PM in Tokyo, check into your hotel.
Day 2: Explore Asakusa area including Senso-ji Temple and the electronic hub of Akihabara.
Day 3: Visit Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park in Harajuku, known for its youth culture and fashion.
Day 4: Explore Shibuya Crossing, Tokyo Tower, vinyl record shopping, and enjoy live music at one of the best rock cover band venues in Asia !.
Day 5: Immerse yourself at Teamlabs Borderless or Planets, or a day at Tokyo Disney.
Mt. Fuji (Lake Kawaguchi)
Day 6: Travel to Lake Kawaguchi, explore the area with stunning views of Mt. Fuji.
Day 7-11: Kyoto
Day 7: Travel to Kyoto via bullet train, check into your hotel. Explore some world heritage sites with ancient temples close to a thousand years old..
Day 8: Visit the Imperial Palace and Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. This evening explore local small “Izakaya” bars with their delicious local food.
Day 9: Explore Fushimi Inari Shrine and its thousands of torii gates.
Day 10: Day trip to Osaka, visit Osaka Castle and Dotonbori for food and nightlife.
Day 11: Day trip to Nara, visit Todai-ji Temple with its Great Buddha and Nara Park.
Day 12-14: Hiroshima
Day 12: Morning transfer to Hiroshima, afternoon visit to the Peace Memorial Park and Museum.
Day 13: Explore Miyajima Island, visit Itsukushima Shrine and possiblly hike Mount Misen.
Day 14: Depart from Hiroshima.
Tour costs including international flights, airport and inter-city transfers via the bullet train, twin share accommodation in 3 star minimum rated hotels throughout with breakfast daily, and sightseeing highlights along the way….as well as our experienced tour leaders with intimate local knowledge.
The tour is paid off via instalments over 2024/25. Don’t be afraid to tour on your own as we will match single people up to room with their fellow travellers of the same gender to save on single supplements on tour.
